My tips to fully enjoy Pornic and its nearby surroundings
Walks along the coastal path or by bike, farmers’ markets, a busy calendar of events — here are my tips and information for a successful stay in Pornic.

For your daily trips and outings, plan to use bicycles. If you cannot bring your own, you can rent them at Sea, Bike & Sun near the port of Pornic (10% discount reserved for our guests).
The classics of Pornic
The picturesque coastal customs officers’ path on foot, with the typical fishing huts of the Jade Coast.
The Vélodyssée route by bike.
A stroll around the harbour, and finally, of course, an ice cream from La Fraiseraie, a true local institution!
The markets
There are many local farmers’ markets in Pornic and the surrounding areas.

All year round (in the morning) :
- On Wednesdays and Saturdays, just 1 km from the Maisonnette, discover the Birochère market (access via Rue des Lavandières).
- On Thursdays and Sundays, the traditional market of Pornic takes place in the upper town.
- On Fridays in La Bernerie-en-Retz, 5 km from the Maisonnette, a large traditional market.
From June 15 to September 15 : market in La Bernerie-en-Retz on Tuesdays (in addition to Friday).
Boat trips aboard L’Evasion 3
My favorite : the Pornic–Noirmoutier crossing, only in July and August.
Board the Evasion and reach Noirmoutier in about 1 hour, with departures and arrivals at the Noëveillard marina (Pornic) and the fishing and commercial port of L’Herbaudière (Noirmoutier). Both towns offer free shuttle services every hour to make your travel easier.
The Evasion 3 also offers 1-hour sea cruises to discover the Jade Coast and the Bay of Bourgneuf-en-Retz. Enjoy a peaceful trip and see the idyllic scenery of the Jade Coast from unique viewpoints, stretching to Préfailles and Pointe Saint-Gildas.
These cruises are narrated, sharing the history of the town, the castle, the Bay of Bourgneuf, the beaches, the fishing huts, and the Breton marshes, with some anecdotes.
Fishing trips and sunset cruises are also available.
Sea cruises run daily from May to September.
